Haven't we all bought the wrong hair care product in our lives?
Maybe “impulse buying” in the mall got the best of you, and you bought a conditioner for dry hair while you have oily hair. Or maybe, you didn’t notice that it contained an ingredient that's secretly ruining your hair...
I get it.
Things happen!
Sometimes you venture out, buy in bulk just to have your favourite shampoo expire with half a bottle of shampoo still inside.
😢😢😢
So this post is dedicated to those tubes and bottles hiding in the back of our bathroom cabinet.
You DON’T have to throw them away just yet!
There are a ton of ways to repurpose your haircare product and make the most of it.
Don’t believe me?
Take a look –
Conditioners
Why It Sucked?
How to Repurpose?
No matter how bad a conditioner is, it still serves the primary purpose – reduces friction between hair strands and moisturisation.
So, why should you waste such great potential?
It can serve you just right as a shaving cream (not for your face obviously)
It will detangle the leg hair and also increase the level of moisture on the cells. Overall, you’ll get a smooth leg shaving experience.
Apart from legs, you can use them to shave underarms and even bikini area.
*WARNING*
If the conditioner is causing allergic reactions, you MUST AVOID using it as shaving cream.
Shampoo
Why It Sucked?
Why do you use shampoo?
Duh!
To cleanse your hair and scalp, of course.
At the end of the day, shampoo is just another cleaning agent. It’s a gentle one but a cleaning agent nonetheless.
Use it to clean those items where soaps appear to be too harsh.
For example, use it to clean the bathtub or shower area. You can remove carpet stains too.
You can also use it as body wash or scrub. Some people use them for DIY manicure and pedicure.
Hair Oils
Why It Sucked?
Hair oil is a handy material. You can always use their lubrication and polishing properties for other purposes.
For example, leather products and natural wood furniture can once again find the shine and polish of the new ones.
If you got paint on your hands while working on your DIY project or home improvement activities, use the hair oils as a paint remover.
Are your door hinges annoying you all day with banshee-like screeching sound? Lubricate them with hair oil to make things smoother.
Also, you can use the same lubrication properties to fix the stuck zippers.
See? Recycling doesn't have to be difficult. Instead of pouring your products down the drain. Use this post to give them a second chance to redeem themselves.
